Harlem’s Finest Barbeque

A couple of things that make me really happy are exciting reads, shoes, and southern barbecue. In a city filled with restaurants, southern barbecue is easy to find, but quality southern barbecue is hard to find amongst all of the mediocre restaurants. In my search to find authentic and delicious southern barbecue, I went on a long journey to Harlem after hearing some great reviews on a certain restaurant called Dino BBQ. Famous for their slow cooked barbeque ribs, I was extremely excited to see what Dino BBQ had to offer.
Decorated with wooden booths and mahogany logs, the restaurant is filled with pictures of cowboys and southern backgrounds displayed across its walls. With a definite southwestern vibe and waitresses with friendly southern drawls, I was sure that I would be eating a delicious barbeque meal. After seeing a menu packed with mouthwatering barbeque dishes, I ordered the original pulled pork sandwich with fries and coleslaw and my friend ordered the pork and brisket plate with cornbread, beans, and potatoes in the hopes of having a stomach filled with good southern barbecue. As expected, the pulled pork sandwich was so tender that the cliché phrase “melts in your mouth” seems the only appropriate way to describe it. With their perfect zesty barbeque sauce and soft meat, Dino BBQ’s pulled pork sandwich was simply a delight to find in Harlem. The pork and brisket plate was also a great dish, rubbed with the same zesty barbeque sauce as the pulled pork sandwich, accompanied by traditional southern sides that balanced out the entire meal. With the sweet homemade cornbread and tangy coleslaw accompanying our southern entrees, Dino BBQ was the perfect place to sooth my cravings.
Although travelling to Harlem is quite a journey for a Queens resident like myself, my experience at Dino BBQ completely proved that the two hour train ride was more than worth it. Dino BBQ provides the best barbeque and meat embodying authentic southern barbecue, and their popularity is clearly evident by the never ending line of diners that walk in to the restaurant. With four locations in New York and one in New Jersey, I highly recommend Dino’s BBQ to anyone who’s interested in having a great meal to satisfy their need for exceptional southern barbecue.
